Instructions

What you should know

We will be using a custom launcher, this means that some of the app drawer functionality and your icon layout will be different than you are used to. We will be using the well-respected and free "Nova Launcher".

If you want to keep using your existing launcher, then please use the instructions from: * 📱 Android - Hide Apps on Samsung or LG * 📱 Android - Hide Apps on Xiaomi or Redmi * 📱 Android - Hide Apps on Huawei * 📱 Android - Hide Apps on OnePlus or Oppo

Or search online for instructions on how to "Hide Apps" on your phone model.

What you should do

Install the Nova Launcher

  1. Install the Nova Launcher from the Play Store.
  2. Follow the setup instructions on screen and open the app.
  3. Set it as the default launcher if it asks you.

Change the App Icon and Name

Instead of directly hiding the app, you will change the name and icon so it is less conspicuous.

  1. Open the Nova Launcher if you haven't already
  2. Open the app drawer.
  3. Long-tap on the app you want to disguise.
  4. Tap "Edit."
  5. Change the name to whatever you want
  6. Tap the icon to change it, select any of the icons that will help you to hide the app.

To access the hidden apps, you can simply launch the renamed app from the app drawer.
