A strong PIN code has the following properties:

  2. It should NOT follow a layout pattern - e.g. 14789, 75469
  3. It should NOT reference anything important in your life, like your birth year or the entry code to the office - e.g. 1985, 1965
  4. It should be as long as possible, picking 6 characters instead of 4 when possible - e.g. 392734, 982832
  5. If the PIN policy allows it, you should use letters and symbols in addition to numbers - e.g. 28@729, +HD28
