Rationale

Dingtalk may offer some useful features, but as a product offered by Chinese tech giant Alibaba, the collected data will be subject to Chinese data legislation. The legislation provides that Chinese authorities should always be able to review such data "when necessary". Remember that the app is designed to monitor the workplace, and has access to cameras, microphones and storage on your staff's devices. So we strongly recommend against installing applications which could expose your staff to authorities which might be supportive of your adversaries.

What you should do

1. Find alternatives

Depending on which features you were using Dingtalk for, there are alternatives to consider:

• Signal
• Jitsi Meet
• Slack
• MS Teams
• Zoom

Choose a suitable alternative to Dingtalk and onboard your staff to the new platform.

2. Remove Dingtalk from all devices

Remove and uninstall Dingtalk from all staff's phones and notebooks.
